2. Savitribai Phule was born on 3rd January 1831.
3. Savitribai Phule’s birthday is celebrated everywhere as Girl’s Day.
4. Savitribai Phule got married to Mahatma Phule at the age of 9.
5. Mahatma Phule, while doing his social work, gave the responsibility of girls’ education to his wife Savitribai
6. Savitribai Phule started the first school for girls in Pune after receiving education from Mahatma Phule
7. Savitribai Phule advocated widow remarriage.
8. In 1876, Savitribai Phule established a home for the prevention of infanticide for virgin mothers and widows.
9. Savitribai was also a poetess and wrote a collection of poems called Kavyaphule.
10. Savitribai Phul died of infection while serving a plague patient.
